People who have good emotional health tend to be more aware of their thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and have learned to deal with their stresses and challenges in a way that supports their well-being. But even the most adaptable people can have setbacks. How you deal with those challenging times is the key.
When we have stress-related emotions (such as sadness, depression, anger, frustration, etc.), our body will often respond by contracting and tensing. Over time, that can cause health problems such as high blood pressure (hypertension), shortness of breath, aches and pains, joint stiffness, digestive disorders, and anxiety, just to name a few.
