Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique that involves a natural hands-on method of energy balancing to help reduce stress and encourage the body to relax. It may also be used to help reduce physical and emotional pain, assist the body’s natural healing process, and calm the mind. Reiki cannot harm anyone in any way at any time.

The word Reiki means “universal life force energy.” It is derived from the Japanese words rei meaning universal consciousness and ki (similar to the Chinese chi) meaning “life force” or “energy that permeates everything animate or inanimate.” It is the strength and quality of the flow of ki within us that determines our health and vitality.

Reiki is independent of faith or religion and tends to complement one’s beliefs. A person does not have to believe in Reiki for it to work. However, Reiki does require that the person receiving treatment accept responsibility for his/her own healing and consciously pursue wellness.

When the body is in good health, ki flows freely. If the flow is blocked, the energy will build up, stagnate and eventually become depleted. It is this imbalance that causes illness or disease.  The blockages may be caused by negative thought patterns (fear, anger, pride, envy, etc.). A Reiki treatment works on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels, and reduces blockages by helping to balance the client’s ki.

A Reiki Master or Practitioner does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, and a Reiki treatment is not a substitute for medical treatment. However, a Reiki treatment can help relax the body and energetically encourage the body to stimulate its natural healing process.

As a Certified Reiki Master, Christie is qualified both to do Reiki treatments and teach other individuals interested in learning the techniques of traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki.

Available training: First Degree, Second Degree, Advanced, and Master levels of Reiki.

Please contact Christie to book your private Reiki appointment or for a training session.
